RVT-31 seeks to procure approximately 100 Lenovo laptops for FMCSA Federal Safety Investigators and Border inspector managers. FMCSA re-places its field laptops every three years. The staging and laptop distribution will be administered by RVT-31 and FMCSA Technical Support. This procurement will include purchasing laptops and related accessories (port replicators and AC Adapters). The Volpe Center has been supplying, staging and supporting laptops for FMCSA Safety Investigators, Border inspectors and Field Supervisors for over 10 years. These computers will be needed to replace its aging laptop inventory. In FY10, RVT-31 and FMCSA found it to be imperative to replace their field laptops due to expired warranties and a necessary technology update. New laptops will provide faster access to data , less downtime, increased wireless capabilities, therefore improving FMCSA field users’ day to day productivity.
