On January 23rd, Spelman College hosted training technical assistance workshops for the small business community (namely S/WOBs/DBEs). The objective of the training workshops is to disseminate information to entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs that will assist them in navigating the government procurement process, and prepare them to compete for US DOT-funded projects.

The workshops included the following topics: 1) American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; 2) Bonding Reimbursement/Short Term Lending Programs; 3) Procurement Do's and Don'ts. The Project Director for the South Atlantic Small Business Transportation Resource Center (SBTRC) presented workshop on the DOT Bonding and Short Term Lending Programs and a session on "How to do Business with DOT". 40 small businesses were in attendance.
